| Open Enrolment Courses |
The College has recently inaugurated a series of open enrolment
courses.
Each course is an 8 week module that is designed to improve
the student’s general English abilities while also equipping
them to deal with a multi-lingual workplace environment.
Courses are offered at various levels, Beginner, Elementary,
Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate, and assessment can be both
in House, or external, under the auspices of the London Chamber
of Commerce |

The English Department also offers courses and staff to outside
organisations and has conducted courses for: Kahramaa,
Qatar Telecom (QTEL),
Qatar Steel Co. (QASCO)
Qatar Liquefied Gas Co. (Qatar Gas)
and Rasgas
in addition to in-College courses for: Gulf
Air,
Gulf Helicopters,
Qatar Airways,
Doha International Airport,
Qatari Armed Forces (GHQ),
GHQ UAE
and Qatar Civil Aviation Authority.
We have also supplied staff to Qatar Ministry
of Education and Qatar College
of Technology. |

| Current Clients |
| Currently QAC holds the contract to supply English teachers
to Qatar Petroleum (QP). The number
of staff employed at QP is around 60, depending on their requirements.
Contracts vary in length from 2 months to 1 year. Kahramaa.
Selected students from Kahramaa attend the college for 8 week
General English Modules, at various levels, as part of an
ongoing program. The emphasis is on English for the workplace,
and students are working within the LCCI framework, with eventual
External assessment and certification at Levels 1 and 2.
Rasgas have recently decided
to use the College’s open enrolment courses to upgrade
the company’s language resource. Students enrol at various
levels for 8 week modular courses, concentrating on general
English at the lower levels, while more advanced students
study LCCI English for Business. |

| English for Special Purposes
(ESP) |
QAC offers a variety of ESP courses adapted to the requirements
of clients. At present these include:
Clerical Preparation Programme,
containing Modules on English for the Workplace, and Secretarial
Skills, with intensive IT Practice and Practical Office Administration.
Radio Operators and Control Centre
Course for Industry
English for Security and Safety Personnel
English for Legal Professionals. |
