44 weeks |
Objectives:
- The General English Program at QAC gives Pilot, Engineer,
and ATC Trainees a firm grounding in the English Language,
giving them the skills necessary for further training. All
new students must have completed ALTE Level 1 (Elementary
Level) prior to enrolment, and all prospective students
must take an assessment test before interview.
- Although the main purpose of the English program is to
equip the Trainees with the language essential for understanding
technical subjects, QAC has adopted a communicative approach
to teaching, ensuring that the students can speak and listen
as effectively as they can read and write technical data.
- By the end of the course, trainees should have reached
the Cambridge PET level, whereupon they will have achieved
sufficient competence to begin the Technical English courses.

Objectives:
- The course is designed to provide trainees with the language
and study skills required for successful performance in
Pilot Training Division. In doing so, the course familiarizes
trainees with aviation topics, including the basic principles
of flight, aircraft design, navigation and meteorology.
- By the end of the course, trainees should be able to
read and understand technical information and to speak and
write clearly and concisely on topics relating to aviation.

Objectives:
- The course is designed to provide trainees with the language
and study skills required for successful performance in
the Engineering Department. In doing so, the course establishes
a sound basic knowledge of aircraft design, focusing on
the structure and function of the piston engine and the
jet engine.
- By the end of the course, trainees should be able to
read and understand technical information and to speak and
write clearly and concisely on topics relating to aviation.

Objectives:
- The course is designed to provide trainees with the language
and study skills for successful performance in the Air Traffic
Control Department. In doing so, the course introduces the
vocabulary of airports, aircraft and meteorology and the
protocols of radio communication with aircraft. It also
familiarizes the trainees with the principles of flight,
the effects of weather on aviation, and the workings of
the various aircraft control authorities.
- By the end of the course, the trainees should be able
to read and understand technical information and to speak
clearly and concisely on topics relating to Air Traffic
Control.

| On completion of the General English and Technical
English courses, QAC Pilot, Engineering and ATC Trainees graduate
to their respective departments for practical training. |
