How Do I Apply?

The academic year at Qatar Aeronautical College runs from September to July. The registration process normally takes place from mid-June to the end of July as well as from mid December to Early February.

Once the secondary school results have been announced, advertisements in Arabic-language newspapers invite interested applicants to attend a Job Fair held at the College. At the Job Fair, applicants and members of their families are able to view exhibits and video presentations about the different training programmes, and members of staff from the different departments are available to answer questions and offer advice.
Having made an informed choice, applicants then proceed to the Registration Section, where they must present:
• a completed application form
• 6 passport-sized photographs
• a copy of their passport information pages
• a photocopy of their national I. D. card
• a stamped signed copy of their secondary school certificate
•an original certificate of high school attested from the place that it has been issued, attested from Ministry of Interior of that country and attested from the state of Qatar (Embassy of Qatar) in that country.
• Registration Fee - QR300/-

The details are entered into a students registration system, and applicants are given an enrollment card displaying their photograph and the date and time when they should attend the QAC Entry Test.
QAC Entry Test

The Entry Test is conducted over a single morning - usually from 7am to 1:30pm. It consists of one paper in Mathematics, and four papers in English Language.

Candidates are not allowed to use calculators during the tests, and all communication devices (e.g. mobile phones, pagers) must be left outside the examination hall.

Applicants who perform satisfactorily in the Entry Test are then contacted by telephone and invited to attend an interview board.

Interview Board

An interview board lasts from five to twenty minutes per applicant.

Interviewers usually include the Director of Academic Affiars and Registration, the Chief Instructor from the relevant department and representatives from the sponsoring body (e.g. Qatar Airways, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority), the Head English Language Teaching Department and the Administration.

At the interview, applicants should demonstrate a high level of interest in the aviation industry, evidence of a strong technical background, and understanding of the nature of the work they will be training for. They may be asked to perform simple aptitude tests relating to their chosen field.

Candidates for Pilot Training and Air Traffic Controller Training must successfully pass a Colour Vision Test at interview.
Provisional Offers

A few days after the interviews, successful applicants will receive a provisional offer by telephone. Such an offer is conditional on the applicant passing any required medical examination.

Candidates for the Pilot Training Programme and the Air Traffic Controller Training Programme must pass the appropriate ICAO medical examination before their admission can be confirmed.

Only a limited number of places are available on QAC courses each year, so it is inevitable that some applicants can be disappointed. The applicants which are not selected the first time may reapply in subsequent years as long as they remain eligible in terms of age.

An Orientation Meeting for new trainees is held in the week before classes begin. This meeting offers both an initial welcome to Qatar Aeronautical College and an introduction to its main rules and regulations.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available on the College campus by arrangement. Students stay in an individual room with own bathroom, in an air-conditioned flat shared with other students. Cable TV is provided, as well as facilities for washing and ironing clothes. Three meals a day are provided in the College cafeteria.

Registrations for the New Intake for February 2011 are underway. The last date for registration is 10th February 2011. Kindly Visit the college to register as the seats are reserved on first come first serve basis. The new semester begins from 27th February 2011.
