Naturally, courses can be tailored to suit to needs of each individual; however, a full ATPL course could entail:
  • 12 month English course including basic Maths & Physics.


  • 6 month Technical English Course.


  • 10 weeks Ground school in fifteen JAA subjects – Airframe/Systems/Powerplant – Instrumentation – Mass & Balance – Performance – Flight Planning – Human Performance – Meteorology – General Navigation – Radio Navigation – Operational Procedures – Principles of Flight(A) – VFR Communication – IFR Communication – Air Law – Principles of Flight.


  • Next 50 weeks alternate days of flying and Ground School.


  • Approximately 126 hours flying on Piper PA28 Archer (single engine).


  • Approximately 39 hours flying on the Piper PA34 Seneca (twin engine).


  • Approximately 51 hours simulator time.


  • Approximately 1000 hours of ground school achieved in the year – all subjects followed by CAA examinations.
